Becoming a Viking Ski Club member

A prospective adult member must be sponsored by an active member, but this does not mean you have to know a member already. Come by and meet us. Before applying for membership you must attend a minimum of one meeting, and stay one weekend at the Cabin. One of us will be glad to sponsor your stay at the cabin, show you around and inform you of the cabin rules. A $25 fee must accompany the application. You are encouraged to come to the meetings and stay at the cabin as a guest during the application period.  The application contains Initiation Fee and Dues information. You may download an application here.

Junior Members

After an adult has been an active member for a year, his or her children age seven or over are eligible for Junior Membership. An active adult member'schildren over the age of four can also stay at the cabin as guests and do not have to be members.

Active members

Members must attend a minimum of three meetings a year to remain in active status. Most of the meetings are at the Bayshore Corporate Center, 1710 S. Amphlett Blvd. conference room in San Mateo, but during the summer we usually have one meeting at the Cabin and in September we have a cook-out - lately at a park in San Mateo. Other events such as our Xmas Party in December and our Installation of Officers Dinner in June count as meetings as well.

Another requirement of membership is that members spend one weekend a year at a Cabin "Work Party", at which we do additional building and/or maintenance. These weekends are frequently hard work, but with good company and great food. We have fun!
